The go-to place for Mercedes-Benz, BMW & Mini service in San Francisco … for more than 45 years
There’s something to be said for longevity… and for building relationships with people you trust.
Especially when it comes to finding an expert to service your luxury automobile.
Pete’s has been providing premier service and repair work to San Francisco Mercedes-Benz owners since the late 1960’s. Later, we extended our service offering to include BMW.
Today, Pete’s is under new management. Our goal is to continue Pete’s long-standing tradition of being the dealer alternative for Mercedes and BMW service. In addition, we’ve expanded our service menu to include Mini and Smartcar.
Same faces, same great service
With a new owner in the driver’s seat, you can be sure you’ll still receive Pete’s brand of exceptional service delivered by the same technicians who helped build our reputation.
When you bring your car to Pete’s, you won’t be greeted by a new face every time. Our loyal and longstanding staff is close-knit, so you get a consistently high level of friendly service on each visit.
Meet your San Francisco Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Mini service team
Mario Serrano
Service Writer
Mario started at Pete’s as an apprentice 35 years ago. He became a mechanic working on Mercedes, then transitioned to the Service Writer position.
An outgoing guy …
Mario enjoys interacting with customers, scheduling appointments, preparing estimates, and handling all requests. “I return 100% of my calls,” he says, “even if it’s just about a light bulb.” He understands when car owners are sometimes intimidated by the bells and whistles their automobile is equipped with and always puts them at ease, like the woman who bought a late model Mercedes. “Whenever she calls with a question, we laugh and I say, don’t worry – you’re not the only one.”
In his spare time…
When Mario isn’t fielding calls from clients, he enjoys working in his yard and going on outings with his grandchildren.
Kevin O'Donnell
Shop Foreman
Kevin knows Mercedes-Benz inside and out. After all, he’s been servicing them for some 45 years. In 2003, after 21 years with another shop, Kevin joined Pete’s and many of his customers followed.
Keeping current…
Kevin keeps his skills current by attending seminars given by the best Mercedes trainers, and he also sends his mechanics for training with both Mercedes and BMW. But the buck stops with Kevin, “…any big problems come to me.”
The best part of his job?
Kevin says it's ,"…coming to work. Anytime I can work on a car, I’m happy. I don’t think of it as a job.” That explains why on a Saturday, when the shop is closed, you’ll probably find him inside working on a challenging problem.
Attention to detail…
Providing exemplary service takes a higher level of focus and commitment. Jon says “the small things matter, from lubing brake caliper pins to prevent brake squeak, to removing that slight smudge of grease on the fender, attention to detail matters.
Going the extra mile…
With a passion for delivering great customer service and a desire to exceed customer expectations, Jon says “service and repair of vehicles is only a part of what we do, getting things right and delivering on time is also a big part of the customer experience.”
Greg Arkus
Manager / Owner
As the new owner of Pete's, Greg is determined to maintain its 45+ year tradition of personalized service while bringing in new services to enhance the customer experience.
An escapee from the world of high tech and aviation, he brings analytical and technical skills, as well as a passion for cars. Greg has worked for major companies such as IBM and Boeing as an engineer and author. What brought him to the automotive repair business? “I wanted to control my own destiny and remembered the comfort I felt working on cars and airplanes, even when I was the test pilot."
He is the proud owner of a 1997 BMW 850Ci, the last one produced in the series, which he maintains personally.
In 2013 he served as the America’s Cup Course Marshall. On weekends, Greg can be found racing his sailboat, Abba Zaba, on the Bay.
